Viral Tag Train | How to Link Up

Posted by barbararozgonyi on June 28, 2007

Now, here’s an idea I found in ineptuser’s Boost PR blog post via a Google Alert.  If you want to get in on the Viral Tag Train game, instructions follow, copied directly from the post. The idea is to build viral steam by exchanging links. When your blog shows up somewhere, you add the blog to your viral list. Remember to change the host tag to your own blog before publishing your post.

And, in compliance with number four, here’s a personal invitation to get on board.

When David Meerman Scott mentioned this blog as one of about 160 or so in his recently published book, “The New Rules of Marketing & PR,” I copied the list of blogs the announcement post and watched for links. Each time Wired PR Works by Barbara Rozgonyi was mentioned [i.e., the blogger copied the list like I did], I posted a thank you comment.

All of this back and forth linking raised my Technorati ranking from 2 million something to 113,380 today. And, I found some intriguing bloggers who were regular readers that I’d never met. So, give it a try and let me know how it turns out. You know me, I’m always up for experimenting with new PR and visibility tactics. While you’re here, browse the list and check out the collection – quite a few fascinating bloggers on this train.

How to Blog Directly from PRWeb

Posted by barbararozgonyi on June 25, 2007

bloogingdirectlyfromprweb.jpgClick the BlogThis icon on any PRWeb release and you’ll go to a page like the one I’m typing on now. This new tool makes it so easy to comment on a release. Remeber to add in the trackback URL so that your blog shows up on the PRWeb release. This technique ties you into the news and gives you free exposure. CoryWest Media

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Click on the image above and you’ll see the text in the window. You can even add in the image from the release – that’s why you see the CoryWest logo. After the post shows up, you can go back in and edit [like I’m doing here] to assign categories. No need to add in trackbacks as I mentioned above. Turns out PRWeb does that for you. All in all a very cool feature that lets you post to your blog in about 30 seconds or less. Nice job, PRWeb!
Alexa Rankings | Blog Breaks into the top 100,000 – in Singapore
Posted by barbararozgonyi on June 25, 2007
alexarankingsjune2007.jpg
Click on this image and you’ll see how Alexa ranks Wired PR Works around the world. For comparison purposes, last November CNN reported the Internet reached a new milestone: 100 million websites.
One year after 18,000 sites populated the Internet in 1995, I launched my first site. So, I’ve been online for 11 years. But, I have to be honest, my site’s stats aren’t all that great. However, my blog’s getting some international attention. And, it’s only about a year old.
What’s better a blog, a site or an ezine? Let’s turn to my new assistant for the answer . . .
Today I started training my summer marketing intern [AKA my soon to be college first year student who’s going to be going on vacation with us and then on a mission trip – not too much time left for a real job. Yes, this is a paid internship.]
In the course of our “orientation” I rambled onto many off-routes [until I discovered she was using my laptop’s stylus to play solitaire while I was talking] and then landed on a topic she could relate to: what’s really relevant to your audience.
As a member of more Facebook groups than her mom cares to know about – I am okay with “Phoebes of the World” – Phoebe knows more about what it takes to round up and corral a herd’s interest than most marketers twice her age.
Tapping into her knowledge, I asked her why a vast majority of ezine readers didn’t read their requested ezines, “It’s boring and it’s not what they want to know about – even though it could be – uh, probably is – a great article. I think you should just write for the blog and then tell the ezine people what you said,” she said with a big smile.
Well, it doesn’t take a seventeen-year-old to tell me what to do, does it? Well, maybe . . .
Blogs pull interest. Ezines push information.
Expert marketers advise having a test group of at least ten thousand to gauge response. While I don’t have that many ezine subscribers, I do have a fair number of blog readers.
Tracking the best of the blog posts tells me what you want to know. Top search terms indicate what topics led you here.
If you’re curious about what’s really going on in my life, you’ll have to opt-in to MTN News. There’s no way I’d post personal stuff and time-sensitive offers here.
So, whoever you are, whereever you are, thanks for clicking in – to the blog, the site and the ezine.
Tim Knox Book | Everything I Learned About Business I Learned from My Mama
Posted by barbararozgonyi on June 21, 2007
I’m excited about Tim Knox’s new book: Everything I Learned About Business I Learned from My Mama
For a limited time you can grab your own copy of Tim’s new book for under $20 and get over $4,000 in bonus downloads provided by other Internet Marketing legends like Mark Joyner, Joe Vitale, Rich Schefren, Mike Filsame, and over 90 others – including me. Here’s my bonus page promo . . .
powerprsecretsfasttracktohighvisibiltiybybarbararozgonyi.jpg
But . . . I haven’t even seen Tim’s book yet.
Even so, Tim motivated me to put together an ebook called Power PR Secrets I’ve been wanting to write for months. How long did it take me? A few hours . . . how could that be? It’s funny how you sit on a project so long that when you finally get the opportunity to make it happen all you need is a nudge.
In this case, the nudge is the opportunity to include the book in an all-star bonus pool. If you click the links in this post and buy the book from my affilate site, http://www.tim-knox-book.com, you’ll be able to download over 90 bonuses.
Tim’s been called “A cross between Jeff Foxworthy and Donald Trump.” Because his new book takes a down home, humorous look at the business world, Tim’s been getting lots of major media attention, including interviews with the New York Times and major TV networks.
Here’s the promotional information I’ve been asked to share:
Tim is one of the most successful entrepreneurs on the planet, having started multiple businesses over his long business career and for the last few years he has established himself as one of the Internet’s top seven figure marketers.
Tim is also a radio talk show host, a syndicated newspaper columnist, and the author of the hilarious new busines book: Everything I Know About Business I Learned From My Mama: A Downhome Approach To Business and Personal Success
Get yours now.
By the way, Tim is so confident that his new book can help put you on the road to business success that he says if you
don’t like the book just send it back to him with your receipt and he’ll refund your investment and you can keep all the bonuses!
Click here to get Tim’s book [and my new ebook Power PR Secrets].
and reuse existing articles or information to save you time
and build your brand.
Whether you publish a blog or an ezine – or even host a web site, writing about what you do is a requirement. And, the more you write, the more fresh content you create, which keeps the search engine’s love affair with your work going.
But, sometimes writing can be a chore. Coming up with a brilliant masterpiece every week is challenging even for the most talented writers.
Because you want your writing to be relevant and interesting, it makes sense to think about the article’s afterlife beyond the single blog post or the ezine article.
You may have a few signature articles right now that people request or read over and over again. If not, think about the most common questions you get, answer them and turn the dialogue into an article.
  1. Vary the length from a short description to a white paper
  2. Set up a Google AdWords campaign and give it away in exchange for email addresses
  3. Send the ezine article to your list
  4. Submit to article directories
  5. Post to your blog
  6. Add to your site in an articles section
  7. Include testimonials from customers about how the article helped them
  8. Mention the article in forums with a link to the location
  9. Collect a series of articles for your book
  10. Share the article with friends
  11. Distribute the article at networking events and trade shows
  12. Turn it into a white paper and offer it for free on your site
  13. Tie the article into today’s news and send out a news release
  14. Add a link to the article on your professional online profiles
  15. Refresh the tone and update it annually, quarterly or even monthly
  16. Slightly shift the focus to appeal to a different audience
  17. Build an AdWords sub-site around on the article
  18. Condense and send on a postcard
  19. Add on to a trilogy or a series of articles as in serial novels
  20. Search for similar topics and suggest your article to site hosts or bloggers
  21. Offer to contribute the article to lifestyle publications
  22. Record the article as an mp3
  23. Produce a simple video with you reading the article for Google Video and YouTube
  24. Add a link to the article in your email signature
  25. Extend the article into a book
  26. Ask others to comment on your article and include their quotes
  27. Apply your findings and publish a case study
  28. Submit to an industry trade publication
  29. Follow up with a prospect
  30. Use in an advertorial
Choose just a few of these ways to recycle your writing and you’ll expand your reach with minimal effort. And the next time you start to write a signature piece, pull out this list so you can write with the future in mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Clip from the ezine’s introduction . . .

Recently, a friend who’s a leader in her field asked me: how will people ever know about me or know how to
